Top 3 Home Industry Trends to Watch This Year

Many people associate interior design trends with color predictions, but that isn't all! Predictions also include aesthetic trends or themes and introducing the latest advances in home technology. Today, I will look at some of the leading interior design trends I'm seeing right now.

Trend 1: High Interest Rates Are Encouraging People to Stay Put

For many years, people have been moving homes and upgrading their interiors. However, with interest rates so high right now, people are choosing to stay put instead of move. This has the knock-on effect that many homeowners choose to stay put and invest in renovating and refurnishing their existing homes instead.

Trend 2: Increasing Numbers of Homeowners Are Investing in Design Plans

That said, this also means more people than ever invest in design services before work starts. Those choosing to get design help will find that they get things right the first time round, and therefore, save on rectifying mistakes massively had they done it themselves. It also means that having the design selections already made with a professional's guidance means you can carry out the work at your leisure in a time frame that suits you. Check out these 3 Questions to Ask to Know if Hiring an Interior Designer is Right for You

Trend 3: Technology is Transforming Home Design

Last but not least, more technology is being introduced to our world than ever, and new tools (like AI) are becoming part of the design process. This is super exciting for me and other designers because we can create three-dimensional visuals quickly to help clients visualize design selections. These visuals help to ensure confidence in design decisions that need to be made.

These new and emerging industry trends are a great advancement for the sector. It may seem like a lot to navigate right now, especially in an uncertain world, but by getting ahead of future home design plans, you will feel more confident in the direction of your interiors.

If you would like a designer's eye on your home, I'd love to help. Reach out, and let's make a plan to create your perfectly unique space!

Cheers,

Laura
